    Posted: 11/26/2015 at 1:37am

I have noticed that when my racket was new, it would absorb sweat quite well and wouldn't slip at all. But at present that I've used it for several months, the feel of the handle every bit completely changed and it has become less absorbent and more slippery. Is there a way to remove the muddied and hand oil that the handle absorbs?

I don't care virtually the looks, I merely don't want to have to use a grip wrap...

Sweet went into the wood, cleaning is for dirt on top of information technology and so, I gauge It won't work, IMO....what well-nigh u pull the rubbers off and place the blade near a estrus source like furnace where water evaporates slowly......i will counterbalance the blade b4 to see if whatever water came off.....
I employ grips on all my blades, information technology does balance the blade better

Be very careful about putting it next to a heat source, the bract can warp. Otherwise, every bit Tuly said, the sweat has penetrated the handle, not much you tin can exercise. You could always sand it lightly to restore some surface grip.

Some people apply toothpaste or dish detergent. My secret is vinegar. Information technology's natural, does the least corporeality of damage, and cleans the almost and the noise stays clean the longest. And it doesn't take any stiff chemical smells, it's natural

Why in bob's name would I put information technology near a heat source?!  The handle is dry out, but it has become slick because of all the oil from my hand and from the dirt left behind past dry sweat. I want to get rid of the oil and dirt so it absorbent again. By doing that, information technology should slip less.

I imagine steam cleaning it could work, though.

I just tried using toothpaste and while it definitely seems to have fabricated it cleaner (and better smelling), the fact that I used toothpaste with bleach in it ways that in one case it was dry out, the handle ended up looking even less like it used to. Only it does seem to exist less slick. The toothpaste didn't scratch the plastic lenses either.

Adjacent I retrieve I might try using a kettle to steam the handle a chip and see if that will get even more of the oil out.

If we knew the exact grit that the manufacturers use to finish the blades, we could probably apply information technology to mimic the finish of a new bract.

Call me crazy. I'd grab a washcloth, a single drib of dish lather, a little tapwater, and some elbow grease.

Clean with alcohol wipe, let dry out for 30 min then use a lilliputian lemon oil on a rag. I have done it for years.

Side by side I think I might endeavor using a kettle to steam the handle a bit and see if that volition become fifty-fifty more than of the oil out.

Water and wood are a bad mix. Best not to get extra water into the blade.

Try cleaning off the tooth paste with alcohol - cheap stuff you get in the dollar blazon store. It will evaporate without getting absorbed into the forest.

Steam will not remove oil. Information technology may impairment the blade. You demand an organic solvent. Alcohol may practice it. Or try paint remover.
